If you have an interest in learning to play The Great Highland
Bagpipes or have an interest in learning to play the Pipe Band Snare Drum, we
have the following instructors available.
Bagpipes:
Brian O'Kane
Brian has studied under PM George Bell and has played with many great bands
including Parlin and District.

Chris Finnegan
Chris Finnegan has been performing music professionally for over ten years. He
has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music Performance from Rutgers
University and is currently a high school Orchestra Director. Chris performs in
a wide range of musical styles on a variety of instruments. He can be found on
recordings from the Naxos, Masters, and Megalith labels. Current projects
include running a monthly Seisiun for traditional Irish music, playing with a
jazz quintet, and of course piping. He learned to play the bagpipes from Brian
O'Kane and later, PM George Bell.

John Hatton
John is currently the Pipe Major of FSOS Pipes and Drums. John has introduced a
lot of new music to our street selections and is also our Pipe Major in our
newly reformed competition band. John, along with several of our fine pipers,
has put an emphasis on the care and tuning of the bagpipes, regardless if we are
in the practice circle or on the street. John has studied under PM George Bell.

Drumming:
Our Drum Sergeant, Bill Birch, is currently the drumming instructor for several
local bands. Bill began his drumming tenure in Drum Corps and made a smooth
transition to the Pipe Band style of drumming. Bill has helped improve our drum
line on the street and is our lead tip in our competition band.
